Regulations for participating
ENTRY
The submission deadline is April 1st 2010.
Before that date the festival office must have received ALL the following material for every submitted film:
- a DVD preview copy of the film (DVD-ROM will not be accepted).
- a receipt of online registration.
- at least 1 still photo (jpeg or tiff format)(CD or send it to filmfestival@odense.dk. Remember to add title).
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
The running time may not exceed 30 minutes (24 frames per second).
All live or animated productions can compete. Films must have been completed on or after March 1st 2009.
Screening copies must be 35 mm prints, Digibeta or BetaSP. Separate sound tracks will not be accepted. Only above mentioned formats will be accepted as screening copies.
Films in other languages than English or Danish must have English subtitles. Separate subtitles will not be accepted.
Films which have been shown or awarded at any other international film festival can also compete.
Educational, industrial, advertising or tourist films will not be accepted.
Any filmmaker, producer, film organisation or other party can submit films directly to the festival office according to the entry and shipping instructions.

SELECTION
National quotas will not be taken into consideration in the selection. The organizers will appoint a selection committee that will be in charge of the final selection for the competition. The organizers may also authorize persons whom they consider competent to pre-select films for the selection committee or directly to the competition on different occasions.
The final selection screenings will take place in May 2010. Entrants will be notified of the selection results by the end of June 2009.
IF YOUR FILM IS SELECTED
If your film is selected a screening copy of the film must be sent to the festival office no later than August 1st 2010. Screening copies must be 35 mm prints, Digibeta or BetaSP. SHIPPING AND INSURANCE
The shipping costs to Odense must be paid by the sender. Return expenses will be covered by the festival. The screening copy will be insured by the festival for the whole time of it being in the festival’s possession.
FESTIVAL SCREENINGS
The total length of the international competition will not exceed 12 hours.
RETURN OF THE FILM
The screening copy will be returned within three weeks after the festival to the address given in the entry form, unless other agreements have been made. The Festival will keep preview copies of the film in the festival archive.
JURIES AND PRIZES
The organizers will nominate an international jury of three members and a national jury of three members as well as a youth jury.
The juries will award the following prizes to films in the festival’s three competition programmes:
Grand Prix – Best international film and best national film: EURO 3,500.
Most Surprising Internationale Film EURO 2,000
Most Imaginative International Film: EURO 2,000
Most Surprising National Film: EURO 2,000
Most Imaginative National Film: EURO 2,000
Best International Children’s Film: EURO 2,000
Best National Children’s Film: EURO 2,000
Animation Award: EURO 2,000
Animation Talent Award: EURO 1,350

Speciel Mentions
TELEVISION BROADCASTING
Excerpts of the films participating in the festival may be broadcasted in Danish and foreign television programmes presenting Odense Film Festival. The length of the excerpts will be limited to 10 % of the total length and will not exceed three minutes. For this purpose, special permission will be asked separately from the producers.
NON-SPECIFIED CASES AND CONTESTATIONS
The festival organizers and the festival director will decide on any doubtful cases not clarified by the regulations. Participation in the festival implies recognition without reservation of these rules.
