New to OFF? Let us guide you on how to experience the festival:

The short film competition is at the heart of OFF.

We have carefully selected 194 short films from 51 countries across six competition categories—from Danish and international films to animation, documentary, youth, and music videos.

In the competition programme, you’ll encounter both established directors and emerging talents, and you may also recognize several well-known Danish actors on screen, including Ulrich Thomsen, Neel Rønholt, Nicolaj Kopernikus, and many more. We’re also excited to launch our brand-new music video competition and host a music video marathon at Dynamo.

The competition films are grouped into curated screening blocks, each featuring films with varying themes. These blocks are shown multiple times at different venues across Odense throughout the festival. All competition screenings run for a maximum of 120 minutes, including Q&A.

The focus programme is for those who want more than screenings.

Beyond the competition films, the festival is filled with a wide range of events—from behind-the-scenes insights and panel discussions to open-air screenings, concerts, film experiences for children and youth, and much more.

Explore it all under the following themes: OFF for Children and Youth, Talent! Talent! Talent!, Next Gen, Behind the Film, Animation Explosion, Midnight Movies, Feel the World, Music on the Menu, and Under the Open Sky.

The duration of focus programme events varies, so please check the individual listings for details.
